As you can see this exhibition was a lot of fun, it was important to me for everyone to enjoy the journey. As you enter the hallway the tone is set for high drama, colour and happiness. The excitement behind every closed door was waiting.

The journey would begin by explaining Maxamilism decour, this has been a very West Indian way of decorating for as long as I’ve known, colour brings happiness so my designs from Burst to Golden Haven having a fusion of my West Indian heritage and growing up in an urban city such as London.

November is a special month, the month of my mothers birthday so when asked to hold my first ever exhibition at Stratford Library in East London I was excited that I would be able to show my first ever tribute piece Portrait in words.

It wa an exhibition of first and it was very nerve racking showing all of my pieces to the general public for the first time.

For the portraits I wanted to created create a complete piece so I would create personal borders that would help tell the story of the person. From this people stated that they would like to see some home furnishing, little did I know “for the Love of M’ home furnishings was born.

I was very honoured to join a wonderful group of women for “Some of us are Brave’ exhibition in Oxford at the Fusion Galley. Sukai Eccleston, the curator of the exhibition, was able to bring an amazing group of female artists together.

This also gave me an opportunity to talk on a panel ‘Material objects as black cultural expressions of home’ about art in the home I didn’t realise how important that was at the time.

Curious Goat

Curious Goat is a wonderful cafe that supports local artist in East London by giving them wall space. I was able to create a brand new following over coffee and breakfast.
